Equipped with two 30L, 75L, and 300L SIP bioreactors, our process scale-up laboratories allow you to validate bioprocesses, establish critical scale-up parameters, and produce larger quantities of bio-products ideal for characterization.

Our 3,000L fermentor and supporting downstream processing capability serves as your ultimate proof of bioprocess scalability, including producing greater product quantities for customer trials and downstream processing optimization in a pilot-plant setting. Downstream Processing
You’ll have access to multiple, pilot-scale technologies for bioproduct recovery from fermentations generating concentrated liquid or powdered product forms for evaluation. Upstream Processing
Fermentation capacity from bench-top to pilot scales: 7.5L, 40L, 75L, 300L, and 3,000L.
Fermentation Specialization
Anerobic and aerobic fermentation across a wide array of prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms.
Batch and fed-batch process capability, full dissolved oxygen and pH control, off-gas analysis, microbiological and analytical support.
Downstream Processing
DSP equipment includes floor, decanter and disk-stack centrifugation for biomass removal, tangential flow filtration (ceramic membrane) for concentration, and spray drying to generate solid product forms.
Analytical Charactarization
UPLC, GC, spectrophotometry, microscopy, and general wet-lab microbiology equipment are available for in-process and final product sample analysis in support of bioprocess development at DBX.
